Javier Calleja Releases ‘NO WINGS TO FLY’ Sculptural Edition

Made in collaboration with AllRightsReserved.

Javier Calleja had a busy 2022 filled with collaborations and exhibitions — from a solo show at Almine Rech, a hybrid bottle sculpture with NANZUKA, to a capsule collection at Hypebeans in Hong Kong and Seoul.

The Spanish artist is ringing in the new year with a new sculpture entitled NO WINGS TO FLY. Made in conjunction with AllRightsReserved, Calleja depicts one of his signature wide-eyed characters as he optimistically gets ready to soar. “To fly was always a dream of mine as a child and this is why NO WINGS TO FLY is mimicking birds wings or feathers with his outstretched fingers,” said the artist in an interview with the Hong Kong-based creative studio.

NO WINGS TO FLY is an edition of 888 made in mixed media, vinyl and crystal glass. The sculpture sizes at roughly 11 x 10 x 7-inches and comes numbered and printed with the artist’s signature under the feet. The artwork will cost $804 USD and must be purchased through a raffle program that ends on January 9 HKT.

Elsewhere, Alejandro Cardenas casts his futuristic canine in sleek bronze.
