Back in July, Kidult kicked off the “EXSTINCTOR” project where the art world’s vigilante hid 10 individually numbered sculptures around the globe as a way to encourage curiosity within society’s encapsulating walls. With the seventh piece appearing in London this past week, the French artist previews a short video titled “No Gallery, No Master.” On its official website, we’re told “The ‘Exstinctor’ propaganda project only aims at destroying the notion of commodity. Just like graffiti, my work is public, and not private. NoGalleryNoMaster was created so that we can choose and select how my work is sold and distributed, in accordance with very specific criteria.” Below that description Kidult asks that you contact him with certain information like your name and profession. Though he doesn’t mention as to why, he may be alluding to the fact that his followers will aid him in deciding how and where his work will be sold.
