“Global Model Village,” the latest exhibition by noted miniaturist Slinkachu, is an exploration of lowest common denominators — the everyday problems of “little” people worldwide. Working around the globe, the artist peered past the larger problems of a world “gone to the dogs,” into the real dramas of daily living — overdue bills, kids, loneliness, and a host of other problems that unite us. His “little people” installations have appeared in such diverse locales as New York, Beijing, Cape Town and Moscow, part of a quest to highlight the economical, sociological and political plights often ignored by those in power. Hosted by Andipa Contemporary in New York and London, the new exhibition will include a spectacular selection of the artist’s newly released limited edition prints, publications and installations. Those wishing to “look where we normally do not look” will be able to do so from September 27 to October 28 at Andipa Gallery in London and from October 3 to October 7 at New York’s Broome Street Gallery.
