As The Green Soccer Journal launches the fourth installment of its football-centric publication, the magazine has tapped celebrated British actor Phil Daniels for a short film. Showcasing Daniels as an animated manager, the film sees the actor pacing the sidelines as he appeals calls, shouts instructions, agonizes over near misses and enthusiastically celebrates an imaginary goal. Conceptualized by the rag’s own James Roper and Adam Towle with styling by Stephen Mann, the piece sees Daniels in an array of stylish fall/winter garb from Yves Saint Laurent, Mauro Grifoni, Paul Smith, Emmett London, Lanvin, Gucci, Arc’teryx Veilance, Mr. Start, Maison Martin Margiela and Thom Browne. Issue 4 of The Green Soccer Journal, “The Power Issue,” is now available at select newsstands and retailers worldwide.
