Felipe Pantone Weaves His ‘OPTICHROMIE’ Series Into a Limited-Edition Blanket

Releasing on November 30 at 10am ET.

Coinciding with his ongoing exhibition in Shanghai, Spanish-Argentine artist Felipe Pantone will release a new limited edition blanket entitled OPTICHROMIE 137 TB.

Defined by glitchy overlapping patterns that mimic the tiny LCD pixels of a monitor, Pantone’s OPTICHROMIE paintings are a collision course between older analog technologies and his own meditation on the uncertainty of our digitized future. While past works from this series range anywhere in the ballpark of $20,000 USD to six figures, his latest edition will be a much easier and more interactive option for the collectors out there.

OP137 TB represents a fusion of chromatic brilliance and optical enchantment,” according to the artist in a statement. “Within the intricate weave of threads, dynamic and pulsating abstract compositions emerge, creating a harmonious dialogue of colors and patterns.”

As an edition of 300, the blanket measures 54 x 72 inches and is packaged within a collectors box, certificate of authentication, along with a woven tag that is signed and numbered by the artist. OP137 TB will release for €400 EUR / $439 USD on November 30 at 10am ET. Pantone will also give out a blanket to one lucky winner through an Instagram initiative.
