Mark Gonzales Sold Hand-Painted Basketballs & More for Charity

Sales went to benefit the Harold Hunter Foundation.

This past Wednesday night, skateboarding and fine art extraordinaire Mark Gonzales recently sold a selection of 50 hand-painted basketballs and acrylic on canvas paintings as part of a charity event held at the ongoing Beyond The Streets New York exhibition. In partnership with adidas Skateboarding, the charitable effort saw a percentage of proceeds from the sale of originals works (100% for the basketballs) going to The Harold Hunter Foundation. A number of high-profile artists as well as musicians were present at the event including acclaimed NYC-born artist Eric Haze and rap legend Cam’ron.

The three stripes and HHF have worked together on local education programs and community skate projects. Throughout the exhibition run, HHF youth will be granted private tours.”adidas is proud of its ongoing commitment to the Harold Hunter Foundation,” Senior Communications Manager at adidas Action Sports, Cullen Poythress says. “Together with Mark Gonzales and Beyond The Streets we aim to provide even more resources and educational enrichment opportunities for the foundation’s youth to learn and to be inspired.”
