Open to the public now.

The Spanish artist Ricardo Cavolo has come to London for his latest exhibition, showcasing a number of originals in a series titled “Hero’s Wound” at the capital’s StolenSpace Gallery.

On HYPEBEAST’s visit to the exhibition, we captured Cavolo’s depiction of characters and their stories in his colorful portraitures. The artist draws inspiration for his solo show from his childhood heroes — such as the previously seen Anakin “Darth Vader” Skywalker painting, as well as ones of Batman, Goku and Wednesday Addams.

Ricardo said, “Heroes must fight their own demons, just like everybody else. The difference lies in what comes after their internal battle. Heroes are heroic because they save the world and alter the fate of humankind in spite of their own ghosts… I wanted to present them without their masks, as raw human beings struggling with their personal beasts. By painting them in their most vulnerable state, we can better understand how truly powerful, strong and brave they really are. I hope everyone can relate to these heroes and see part of themselves in each character.”

Browse the gallery above for an inside look at Ricardo Cavalo’s StolenSpace Gallery exhibition. “Hero’s Wound” is open  at the StolenSpace Gallery in London until June 2, 2019. You can also purchase the original pieces online, with prices ranging between £500 and £5000 GBP (approx. $645 – $6450 USD).
