Javier Mariscal Captures Los Angeles for Latest Louis Vuitton 'Travel Book'

Sketching 176 pages of neon lights and Calabasas hills.

Louis Vuitton has enlisted the Spanish artist Javier Mariscal for its latest Travel Book series installment, producing a 176-page visual guide to Los Angeles.

Javier Mariscal’s unique and bold sketches of LA landscapes capture the neon lights, slogans, shop signs, billboards and logos that dominate the city, as well as its iconic boardwalks and palm tree-lined streets. Mariscal joins the likes of Liu Xiaodong, the contemporary artist who captured rural South African sights, as well as the fashion house’s roster of artists who have reinterpreted the landscapes of Cuba, Prague, Rome, and Route 66. The design, art and screen printing studio Icinori has also worked with Louis Vuitton to present a Travel Book featuring Seoul this season.

Javier’s animated and bright sketches showcase some of Los Angeles’ most famous sights, from its Calabasas hills to its vast cityscape views on the artist’s fifth visit to the city. The book is limited to just 30 pieces, each of which are numbered and signed by the artist. himself. Head to Louis Vuitton boutiques now where you can purchase the limited-edition Travel Book for £38 GBP (approx. $50 USD).
