Virgil Abloh & MCA Chicago Unveil 'Figures of Speech' Book

Looking at his creative projects over the past 20 years.

With Virgil Abloh‘s upcoming “Figures of Speech” exhibition set to open this June, the designer and MCA Chicago have partnered with Prestel to release a book of the same name. The book features images of Abloh’s creative work over the past twenty years, spanning fashion, furniture, graphic arts and architecture, as well as his collaborations with other creatives.

Along with the images, the book is set to feature essays by writers including Rem Koolhaas, Lou Stoppard and Michael Darling, who also curated the “Figures of Speech” exhibition. Other essays in the collection will examine Abloh’s work through the lens of the African diaspora, as well as looking at the way in which Abloh works across both high and low culture.

Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech is set to release in early June, with the accompanying exhibition running from June 10 until September 22. You can register for advance tickets for the exhibit via the MCA Chicago website now, and the exhibition will then move onto various galleries around the world over the next two years.

In related news, you can now order Virgil Abloh’s IKEA collaboration.
