AllRightsReserved's MEET PROJECT Spotlights Artist Yu Nagaba in Upcoming Exhibition

A thematic presentation inspired by the mythological Greek goddess, Venus.

Following MEET PROJECT’s collaboration with Verdy, AllRightsReserved’s art-focused initiative now enlists acclaimed Japanese artist Yu Nagaba for its ongoing pop-up exhibition series. Nagaba is recognized for his minimalist black-and-white illustrations of human subjects across the genres of hip-hop, fashion, as well as the skate community.

The thematic presentation titled “MEET YU NAGABA GALLERY – I’M YOUR VENUS” marks Nagaba’s first overseas show. The artist will unveil his first-ever sculpture that draws inspiration from the mythological Greek goddess, Venus. Moreover, he will display a total of 25 Venus-themed artworks that portray unique female personas gleaned from his favorite movies, artists, and celebrities.

Additionally, Nagoya’s figurative pieces under his ACE HOTEL series will go on display. The concept behind these drawings stemmed from when the artist stayed at the ACE Hotel in New York. He drew a simple illustration on the hotel’s complimentary memo paper and the installment grew from there. “The original idea was to create a fictional story of an imaginary tourist at the hotel, they then become simple yet chic sketches that pay tribute to beloved classic movie scenes,” as per a press statement.

Conclusively, collaborative editions and merchandise will be up for grabs at the temporal exhibition. Highlights include the ‘I’M YOUR VENUS’ 11-inch vinyl figure, graphic tees, skate decks, glass mugs, and transparent tote bags. Prices range from $275 HKD to $1,560 HKD (approx. $35 USD to $199 USD). The show will run from December 10-16 at the address in Hong Kong below.
