Marc Quinn & Avant Arte Collaborate on Photorrealistic 'Iris' Prints

The acclaimed British artist debuts rare works on round paper.

Netherlands-based duo Curtis Penning and Christian Luiten of Avant Arte teamed up with acclaimed British visual artist Marc Quinn on a limited edition print run. Made in collaboration with Coriander Studio, the joint offering is comprised of two special prints produced on round paper entitled Heliosphere and Chromosphere featuring Quinn’s Iris paintings. More precisely, the enlarged irises offer abstract and photorealist qualities with an intricate composition of colorful lines that invoke “a kind of microscopic map of an individual’s identity,” said the Avant Arte founders.

Sized at 80 centimeters in diameter, both prints will release as an edition of 75 starting September 12 at 6 p.m. GMT on Avant Arte’s website. In related news, Quinn’s Zombie Boy sculpture will be on display at London’s Science Museum in Fall 2019.
