Masamichi Katayama Presents Over 500 Pieces From His Collection
‘The Encyclopedia of Masamichi Katayama: Life is Hard…Let’s Go Shopping’ is on display now in Tokyo.

















Interior designer Masamichi Katayama of Wonderwall celebrates 25 years in the industry with his latest exhibit titled, The Encyclopedia of Masamichi Katayama: Life is Hard…Let’s Go Shopping. Including everything from his CD collection to potted plants, to intimate photographs, the over 500-piece archive gives us a glance at the mastermind’s personal life and a look back at his firm’s noteworthy clientele comprised of retailers like AMBUSH, Thom Browne and NIGO, among others. Katayama showcases his impressive antiques and contemporary art collection, boasting works from KAWS, Takashi Murakami and architect Jean Prouvé, along with his compilation of mid-century furniture. A pop-up store will also take place in conjunction with the exhibit, featuring tees designed by art director Hirabayashi Naomi.
