Urban Artist Daku Makes His Mark in Delhi's New Art District
The writing’s on the wall thanks to Daku’s dynamic solar mural.
Gujarati street artist Daku has embellished a building in the Lodhi Colony in Delhi with a typographic solar mural that evolves throughout the day with the movement of the sun. One of 25 international artists commissioned by local initiative St+art to create work across the Lodhi Colony in Delhi – designated India’s first public arts district – Daku’s dynamic “Time Changes Everything” installation sees words associated with human emotion mounted perpendicularly to the building’s facade, with the sun casting shadows as it rises and falls. Visible between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., it’s when the sun reaches its highest point that the installation is at its most legible. Find more of Daku’s work on his Instagram page.
