Step Inside Chernobyl's Haunting Ruins 30 Years After Its Catastrophic Nuclear Accident

This video shot in 4K gives us a detailed look.

Eerily reminiscent of the Fukushima disaster photos produced by photographer Rebecca Lilith Bathory, this chilling 4K video also highlights the terrible effects of a catastrophic nuclear accident. The Chernobyl meltdown has been historically synonymous with such an event and visual artist, Janis Brod took to his camera to capture the ghost town of Pripyat. Scored with a haunting soundtrack, the clip shows different areas of the city where decay has occurred. We see abandoned buildings that include hospitals and schools. There’s even a shot of an unkempt amusement park.

The dilapidated interiors are perhaps the most visceral images here as they give us an imaginative look at the people who used to inhabit these spaces. It makes us wonder what has happened to them in the aftermath. Furthermore, the scenes also provide an experimental view of what a world would be like if humans suddenly cease to exist. Take a look at the video above and let us know your thoughts.
