Bridging the worlds of contemporary art with design, Atelier Amarist and Alejandro Monge explore the true value of currency in their Too Much? sculptural table. Resting between two flat surfaces, the focal point of this piece is the small flame rising out of a glass cube filled with burnt notes that were meticulously reproduced by gluing and illustrating each individual piece by band. Yet, according to the artist, “The most complicated part of the process was to simulate the effect of burnt paper eaten by flames never using fire to achieve it.” Intended to provoke deep thought about the importance of money, check out the video below and let us know your thoughts.
