Having most recently contributed his signature multicolored polka dot pattern to this year’s Brit Awards statue, infamous British artist Damien Hirst has created a special guitar to raise money for cancer research. Aptly dubbed the Butterfly Gift Guitar for Cancer Research, the customized Gibson Les Paul appears in a predominately purple paint scheme with a colorful butterfly motif throughout. Butterfly Gift Guitar for Cancer Research will be auctioned off on March 7 at Sound & Vision at Abbey Road Studios to benefit Cancer Research UK – an endeavor that has raised more than £1.5 million GBP (approximately $2.3 million USD) since 2006.
