Taking place this upcoming weekend, artists Rime and KC Ortiz present a dual show entitled “SKETCHY M%#HERFUCKERS” that focuses on the innocent, and at times lost art of pens, pencils and markers on paper. A studio visit with Rime details the idea that when painting over more expensive surfaces, an artist can tend to take a more “cautious” approach, while creating and crafting over something like newspaper allows for more exploration and less of a pressure cooker mentality. In addition to Rime and KC Ortiz, Australian duo Dabs & Myla will be showing as well with their “BREAK NIGHT LOVERS” exhibition. “SKETCHY M%#HERFUCKERS” opens May 5 and runs through May 19 at Known Gallery in Los Angeles.
