Currently on display at Honolulu’s Loft in Space is the latest exhibition from Tokyo-based artist Ryuichi Ogino. Entitled “Kigen,” meaning “origin” in Japanese, the collection from the California College of Arts-educated painter and sculptor showcases inspiration from both American and Japanese cultures and juxtaposes various styles, disciplines, and media in an exploration of themes influenced by birth and origin. His first solo exhibition in Hawaii, “Kigen” is set to remain open through May 16.
