A Tamagotchi Grand Exhibition is set to be held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its creation, offering visitors a chance to look back on the past three decades and explore the enduring appeal of this beloved digital creature.
The exhibition will dive into the 30 years of “Tamagotchi” history, featuring immersive, hands-on installations that bring visitors into its pixelated world. Besides, the exhibition will offer the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition Tamagotchi model in collaboration with creative director Mitsuhiro Higuchi, as well as other event-exclusive merchandise, including the Mascot Mamekichi, stickers, cards, and charms.
Since its launch in 1996, the digital pet “Tamagotchi” has become a global sensation. Over the years, it has evolved through 38 models with various functions, expanded to more than 50 regions, and shipped over 100 million units as of July 31, 2025.
The 30th Anniversary: Tamagotchi Grand Exhibition will take place from January 7 to February 2, 2026, at the Roppongi Museum in Tokyo. General ticket sales will begin online on December 10.
