Summary
- The final release in the five-part Nuestros Recuerdos series
- Limited to 10,000 bottles, the edition captures memory through craftsmanship, design and ritual
Clase Azul Mexico has unveiled Recuerdos, the final release in the five-part Nuestros Recuerdos series honoring Día de Muertos. Limited to 10,000 bottles, the edition captures memory through craftsmanship, design and ritual.
Spearheading the illustration on the bottle, Mexican artist Erika Rivera’s ivory decanter artwork depicts a serene ofrenda surrounded by spirits in soft tones. Each gold-plated ornament, handcrafted by the family-run Milagros de Latón workshop in Jalisco, holds an obsidian cameo symbolizing the mirrors placed on altars so visiting souls may recognize themselves.
The tequila, created by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, blends spirits aged 12 to 38 months in first-use American whiskey casks. A portion of the agave was cooked in a traditional pit oven, adding a smoky layer that Tinoco describes as “a nostalgic return to my grandmother’s kitchen.” Notes of agave, orange peel, caramel, and clove lead to a citrus and toasted wood finish.
Closing the series that began with Sabores, Colores, Aromas, and Música, Recuerdos embodies how memory and love live on through art. The 1-liter bottle (40% ABV) retails for $1,900 USD plus taxes.
