Artists of 'Space' Explore What It Means to Inhabit the World

Hailing from the Pierre Lorinet Collection, the show spotlights works by Sterling Ruby, Theaster Gates, Louis Bourgeois and more.

Exhibitions

Art Outreach Singapore presents Space, a showcase of works drawn from the esteemed Pierre Lorinet Collection. Curated by Edward Mitterrand, the show brings together a lineup of leading voices in contemporary art whose works reimagine elements of nature and architecture, culminating in an impressive array of painting, sculpture and photography.

Spread across the 8,000-square-foot, former garment factory at New Bahru, the exhibition touches on ideas of space, from cosmos to closeness. Circling themes of displacement, materiality and presence, Space invites visitors to consider the environments they occupy and the connections they foster.

Featured artists include Sterling Ruby, Ugo Rondinone, Theaster Gates, Louise Bourgeois, David Altmejd, Korakrit Arunanondchai, Thomas Bayrle, Christo, Liz Deschenes, Latifa Echakhch, Mimosa Echard, Tracey Emin, Mark Handforth, Louise Lawler, Sherrie Levine, Richard Long, Allan McCollum, Kenneth Noland, Frank Stella and Danh Vō.

Coinciding with Singapore Art Week, Space By The Pierre Lorinet Collection is now on view until February 2, 2025.
