AllRightsReserved to Release Joan Cornellà's New "Yogawork" Vinyl Sculpture

Is it in a state of stress or calm?

Joan Cornellà has once again partnered with AllRightsReserved for a new vinyl sculpture. Entitled “Yogawork,” the new piece depicts the familiar blue-suited salaryman sitting with his legs crossed. The figure appears to be doing a lotus pose – a yoga position typically for meditation – but ironically, appears to be in a state of distress.

Instead of the usual two arms, three pairs of arms protruding from the sides of his body, resembling a simplified Bodhisattva. One pair of arms is shown in a Gyan Mudra gesture to complete the yoga pose. Meanwhile, the other hands are shown doing a thumbs-up, holding a laptop, a cellphone and a pen respectively.

Described by AllRightsReserved as a “multitasking master who can handle it all, even in a yoga pose,” the sculpture’s texture is crafted specifically to appear as if it’s melting. The source of this state seems to stem from the character’s head, as his hair is set ablaze. In a regular state, the hair actually appears in black but will transition into a flame-like hue when it’s under heat.

Releasing exclusively through DDTStore, Joan Cornellà’s “Yogawork” vinyl sculpture will be available in a limited run starting October 3, 12 a.m. EST/ 12 p.m. HKT.
