Sarah Andelman, the former Colette creative director-turned founder of agency JUST AN IDEA, unveiled a giant hybrid shop-exhibition at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche department store in Paris. Entitled “Mise en page”, the project is made in partnership with agency Phamily First, Korean brand NouNou and French artist Jean Jullien.

The latter artist founded NouNou with designer Jae Huh in 2006, back when the two first met studying at Central Saint Martins. What started as a “creative label”, as opposed to a brand, NouNou has evolved into a full offering of tableware, homeware and touring installations that have exhibited from Tokyo to Paris.

Upon entering, visitors will be greeted by an enormous blue sculpture carrying a book in hand by Jean Jullien that stands like a massive two-dimensional totem in the center of the department store, extending from the ground level to the ceiling. Just opposite the escalators, a second sculpture is perched with arms outstretched into the interior shops of the space, as if replicating a person reaching from a book in their library.

Perched on the second floor, NouNou and Phamily First are showcasing an immersive cafe with a curated selection of tableware, glassware, wines and dining essentials overlaid with cheeky graphics by Jullien. “Mise en page” is open until April 21.
