Medicom Toy‘s CEO, Tatsuhiko “Ryu” Akashi, in collaboration with AWWW, has curated a selection of art toys and collectibles, hosted on the 74th floor of the tallest building in Bangkok, Thailand — King Power’s Mahanakhon.

As its name would suggest, the exhibition is meant to represent an exploration of the metaphysical, drawing upon the concept of an ethereal compendium of all universal knowledge. The event is designed to encapsulate the essence of creativity and interconnectedness, presenting a platform where artists and creators converge to speculate on realities, timelines and the very fabric of existence through their works.

This edition in Bangkok is particularly special, showcasing exclusive BE@RBRICK collectibles alongside a range of different art toys. Among the highlights are the BE@RBRICK FLOR@ GOLDEN SHOWER FLOWERS by artist unit MAMES, symbolizing Thai royalty with the national flower of Thailand, the Ratchaphruek, adorning its design. Another exclusive release is the MY FIRST BE@RBRICK B@BY in GOLD PINK & CHOCOLATE Ver., designed by Chiaki, introducing a novel concept where the BE@RBRICK doubles as a rattle for infants, presented in a new rose gold hue for the Bangkok audience.

The exhibition also features the BE@RBRICK Benjarong, marrying traditional Thai pottery art with the contemporary BE@RBRICK form, and the BE@RBRICK King Power Mahanakhon, inspired by the iconic ‘Pixel Skyscraper’. These pieces, alongside the BE@RMUG Benjarong in seven colors, offer a glimpse into the fusion of tradition and modernity, a testament to the event’s innovative spirit. Last but not least, there is a range of one-of-one custom BE@RBRICKs by artist Anne-Valérie Dupond.

Visitors who wish to see these exclusive BE@RBRICKs and more can visit the exhibition up until February 29, with tickets ranging from $25 to $30 USD, both of which include access to the building’s famed Sky Walk — a 360-degree observation deck that towers over 1,000 feet in the air.

Sharing briefly and more broadly on what’s to come for BE@RBRICK, Medicom Toy’s CEO Akashi, shared “I feel that one of the factors supporting the evolution of BE@RBRICK is the fact that since its birth, the range of expression has been expanding, supported by advances in technology.”

Speaking in more detail, he teased two exciting updates for the line, the first: “As a new initiative, development of a Japan-produced BE@RBRICK made of eco-friendly biomass plastic is underway” and second that there is an animated series for the toy line, set to make its way to Apple TV+ soon.
