Schoeni Projects Teams Up With HKwalls On "disCONNECT" Group Exhibition

New site-specific works by Icy and Sot, VHILS and more.

Schoeni Projects is a new contemporary arts platform, based in London and Hong Kong, that is dedicated to promoting a cross-cultural exchange through a progressive series of collaborations. Founded by Nicole Schoeni, Schoeni Projects will spearhead two initiatives each year. Schoeni Project’s London outpost just launched its inaugural exhibition titled “disCONNECT” that features new site-specific works from 10 international artists including Alexandre Farto aka VHILS, Aida Wilde, Isaac Cordal and artist-duo, Icy and Sot. The presentation was made in collaboration with Hong Kong-based non-profit arts organization, HKwalls, that supports both local and international artists through its series of street art programming.

The works in the presentation touch upon a variety of issues including the physical and creative restraints amid the COVID-19 crisis and the role of technology as a conduit between the two. Highlights include a hand-carved and laser-cut work by VHILS called Camada Series #26, a sculptural work by Icy and Sot called Capitalism that was made using a folding antique wooden table and spray-painted collages by Herakut.

“disCONNECT” is accessible online and is accompanied by a program of digital initiatives including downloadable works, videos, virtual tours and a series of Instagram Live discussions. Schoeni Projects also encourages the public to submit their own artworks to include in upcoming presentations. Visit Schoeni Projects’ website to learn more and check out select works from the exhibition above.
