Art for Tibet Fundraiser Spotlights Works by Shepard Fairey, Cey Adams & More Iconic Artists

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the nonprofit organization, Students for a Free Tibet.

Art for Tibet is an annual fundraiser founded by the nonprofit organization, Students for a Free Tibet (SFT), that auctions original artworks by leading international artists. Proceeds from the sale go directly to benefit SFT so they can continue to fight for fundamental human rights of the Tibetan people, as per a statement by the organization.

For this year’s installment, SFT teamed up with longtime collaborator Shepard Fairey alongside iconic NYC-based artist Cey Adams and French Tibetan painter, Marie-Dolma Chophel, who all have donated works for the auction. Coinciding with the auction is an exhibition featuring the works at Harlem’s Gallery 8 in New York City running from October 25 until November 7. The live auction will take place on November 7.

Fairey expressed: “I’ve been a longtime supporter of Students for a Free Tibet because of the work they do to help the Tibetan people gain political independence and freedom. I believe in the power of nonviolent, grassroots movements to create change, and I will continue to advocate for the human rights of Tibetans through my voice and through my art. Free Tibet!”
