New Video Series ‘PRØFILES’ Spotlights Legendary Artist Ron English
Talks about his initial distaste for pop art, going to jail and much more.
Brought to you from the good folks over at PRØHBTD comes a new video series titled PRØFILES, which as the name cleverly implies, involves casting a spotlight on various artists and creative figureheads. For its inaugural issue, the media house chose to zero-in on legendary street artist Ron English, as he discusses his initial distaste of pop art, which ironically enough catapulted him into the contemporary art stratosphere once finally giving into its allure.
Listen in as the noted artist details his early years of constantly living in fear of being sent back to prison for defacing countless NYC billboards. Also on deck, English jokingly recounts being dropped from a gallery for his anti-McDonald’s projects, of which the owner admittedly invested large sums of money into the fast food titan. Check out the video above to learn more about Ron English and the man standing behind the art.
