Olafur Eliasson Installs Immersive 'Reality projector' in LA Theater

It’s like stepping inside a Mondrian painting.

Celebrated Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson has unveiled a new immersive installation titled Reality projector at the fledgling Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles, California. The installation spans a whopping 13,500 square-feet that is located inside the institution’s theater.

One step inside the spacious room and you’ll be immediately covered in colorful abstract lighting and stark shadowplay; it’s almost like stepping inside a Mondrian painting.

Reality projector is one of many elemental installations by Eliasson that challenges the perspective of viewers. It’s currently open to the public up until August 2018. Check out the photos above and visit Marciano Art Foundation’s official website to learn more.

In other art news, German artist Carsten Höller is planning to install huge slides in Florence’s historic Palazzo Strozzi.
