Watch a Timelapse Video of a Massive Forest Fire

Footage captured in 4K that’s both alluring and terrifying.

In a video project titled Fire Chasers, filmmaker Jeff Frost has compiled footage of forest fires from the last two years and edited it into a stunning 4K clip that’s equally terrifying and awe-inspiring. In the film, viewers are given a glimpse of how a forest fire can instantaneously and unpredictably engulf an entire valley, as well as the risk-taking measures Frost had to endure to capture his footage. One of his expeditions included the Rocky Forest Fire from last year that nearly took his life. Frost hopes to utilize Fire Chasers to raise awareness about ongoing threats to the environment and eventually turn it into a feature length documentary. View the video above and download it for free via Vimeo until March 15.
