D*Face "Wasted Youth" @ CAC Malaga

Rethink the fleeting nature of time with D*Face’s latest solo exhibition.

Acclaimed British street artist D*Face, whose style riffs heavily on 1960s American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, recently unveiled a comprehensive exhibition at Centro de Contemporáneo de Málaga in Spain. Encompassing 39 works in mixed-media forms such as silkscreens, stencils, paintings and sculptures, the exhibition titled “Wasted Youth” presents a different interpretation of the British Monarch. Pieces such as Dog Save the Queen, More Punk than You Punk, and Her Royal Hideous conveys the message that while fame and ego are entrenched in various parts of society, the commonalities between people are that we’ll all have to eventually come to terms with death. Centered around his trademark skull motif, D*Face’s work asks the viewer to rethink the fleeting nature of time. “Wasted Youth” is on show till September 27, check out a few snippets above.
