Mario Testino launched his largest book to date, SIR, which focuses on the renowned Peruvian fashion photographer’s work in photographing men. The limited edition book features over 300 photographs taken from Testino’s longstanding 30-year career as well as unpublished works, chronicling the evolution of male dress, demeanor and allure by exploring various concepts of body, tradition, gender, identity, portraiture, costume and fashion. “The way men are seen in photography, in fashion, and the way that men look at pictures of themselves has changed in recent years. It is a subject that has come into focus: The masculine image, a man’s personal style, changing attitudes to the male face and body,” said Testino. Notable fashion icons and celebrities are seen throughout its pages, including Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Jude Law, David Beckham, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Colin Firth and Keith Richards. SIR by Mario Testino is now available for purchase on Taschen for $700 USD.
