After opening the year with a new exhibition at Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York City, acclaimed woodworking sculptor Haroshi takes his talents back to Japan with a new exhibition: “Wait What.” Hosted at HHH Gallery in Tokyo (which he co-founded) and close brand partner HUF, Haroshi will construct the main subject of the exhibition with used skateboards. The large-scale sculpture was originally intended for HUF’s upcoming flagship in Los Angeles, and accordingly, Keith Hufnagel petitioned local kids to exchange their used skateboards for brand new ones. It’s with these distressed boards that Haroshi will present his latest work. If in the Tokyo area between now and April 12, be sure to stop by HHH Gallery to peruse the show.
