D*Face "Scars & Stripes" Exhibition @ PMM Arts Project Los Angeles

Prominent British street artist D*Face opened up his largest solo show to date this past Saturday

Prominent British street artist D*Face opened up his largest solo show to date this past Saturday at the PMM Arts Project in West Hollywood. Entitled “Scars & Stripes,” the exhibition showcases some of his more humorous, yet dark pieces. On display are 30+ of his latest paintings: everything from ’60s style Roy Lichtenstein-inspired cartoon paintings to a collection of portraits of famous musicians and actors like Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain among others. What is omnipresent throughout the exhibition is the notion of death. Everyone in D*Face’s bright paintings has a face of death – whether they have scars on their faces or if they are kissing someone who announces death, there is always something that resembles death behind the glossy images of pop culture. The “Scars & Stripes” exhibition will run until October 12, so make sure to check it out if you’re in the area.
