International photographer Francesco Giusti has made his U.S photo exhibit debut at the HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles with his latest collection of work titled, “Caribbean.” In his own words, “Caribbean is a selection of works in an ongoing project that documents post-colonial subcultures, trauma, and spirituality in Haiti, Jamaica, and Cuba in the 2000s.” Francesco is able to bring together gritty images from Caribbean street life such as gun wielding teenagers and photos that speak to the sense of community, including pictures of brothers in camaraderie to wholly exemplify today’s Caribbean.
