After making their debut just a few short months ago, Life+Times took an exclusive look at KAWS‘s massive wooden Companion sculptures during their stint at New York’s Mary Boone Gallery. Though smaller than the Pinocchio-esque figure that appeared at Switzerland’s More Gallery this past summer, the closeup does well to highlight the large-scale and handsome craftsmanship of the indoor installations, which still stand head and shoulders above their own creator. Crafted in beautifully smooth paneled wood, At This Time shows two figures embraced in consolation while Along The Way seemingly shows KAWS’ signature figure shielding its eyes in horror.
