Joining forces with renowned artist and photographer Steven Klein, Madonna has released her highly anticipated 17-minute short film that tackles social issues of skin color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, violence, and tackles the constricting norms of artistic expression. The experimental film, which is carried through largely by a narrative from Madonna herself, offers up the charm of the black and white film era, while using art, dance, costume and cinematic composition to push the viewer to question individual expression. Although certain elements of the film might be notably NSFW, Madonna has noted that she hopes her “creative commitment [will] inspire change in the world through artistic expression.”
