In a moment of inspired, improvised wisdom, RETNA opens the latest Art in the Streets video with a few bold words: “The more you share, the wiser you are.” Fresh off of a gallery opening which saw his work as the visual introduction to MOCA Grand Avenue’s 2013 Gala, the artist talked to the ever-active MOCAtv to speak on the inspiration behind his two pieces: The Falcon Before and After – 2013 and Para Mi Gente, Los Pintores de Nuestra Alma. The second part of the video concentrates on RETNA’s role in the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Program, in which he led a competitive group of 30 students in visual arts techniques – circling back to the artist’s original words. In all an enjoyable watch, check out the latest Art in the Streets video above.
