Known for the use of vibrant colors in his paintings and illustrations, Tim Biskup nods towards cultural graphics of the past in “Charge” — his latest exhibition at Martha Otero Gallery. The term charge holds a number of meanings for Biskup. To be “charged” or be “in charge” is to feel psychologically revived, renewed or empowered. Channeling this feeling onto canvas with the help of color, Bisket tempers with the viewer’s perception via rigid shapes and mysterious characters. “Charge” will be showing throughout October.
