Japanese fashion and culture magazine HUgE embarked on an extensive search for the true independent working spirits that thrive in today’s American working culture. As conceived earlier in the year, the comprehensive endeavor over the following months has sewn into an intricately and richly textured magazine for the June issue release entitled ‘MADE IN USA.’ The ‘MADE IN USA’ issue celebrates the rooted values of the American independent creators, their respective craft, and value in craftsmanship in creation of objects. From coast-to-coast to the local communities of Portland and Brooklyn, and historical insight to vintage objects, an A-Z visual dictionary detail the array of American brands and their focus of creating true value in everyday objects. In addition, a feature entitled “Tools” showcase refined objects from around the world.

In conjunction with the MADE IN USA release, a joint exhibition entitled “Found the USA” between HUgE and Japanese renowned Interior Stylist, Fumiko Sakuhara with Found MUJI at the AOYAMA location opened Tuesday. The inclusive focus on daily American objects provide insight to Japanese culture and introduce the true values and purpose of well-refined craftsmanship product for everyday use. The exhibition objects featured in the magazine are also for sale. “Found the USA” runs from April 24 through May 17, 2012.
