Ryan Tatar is a San Francisco-based fine art, editorial and documentary photographer. Perhaps best known for “Sea-Tribes” — an ocean-inspired photo-essay documenting surfers and coastal landscapes — Tartar is also an avid surfer and a TWOTHIRDS Sentinel, a designation given by environmentally-conscious brand TWOTHIRDS to those who share its devotion to the sea. A selection of the photographer’s art is currently being showcased at Ron Herman Sendagaya — original works on 35mm film and Polaroid that continue Tatar’s celebration of the aquatic lifestyle and have brought him international recognition. The exhibition will run until November 16 in Sendagaya, Tokyo.
