The new agnès b. store on SoHo’s Howard Street in Manhattan was host to a slew of young photo-fanatics and fashionistas alike as it recently hosted the “Certain Young French Photography and Drawings” exhibition. As Agnes herself is a graduate of the Paris Beaux-Arts School in Versailles, she has partnered with them as well as the Lucien and Rodolphe Hervé Association to showcase the work of seven up-and-coming French photographers (Luna Picoli-Truffaut, Marc Cellier, Claudia Imbert, Nicolas Dhervillers, Claire Adelfang, Matthias Olmeta, and Leonard Bourgois-Beaulieu), as well as several other artists at her state-side flagship. The artists are tied together by a shared interest in developing “invented realities that manifest their idiosyncrasies.” By presenting both photography and drawings side-by-side, the agnès b. brand hopes to encourage a coalescence of the two. Open now through August 31, 2011.
