Pharrell Williams’ digital auction house JOOPITER is spotlighting the master of Pop Art with its latest release, “The Contemporary Take: Andy Warhol Prints.” This curation focuses on how Warhol redefined printmaking, transforming editioned works into a primary art form for serious collectors. The selection highlights the artist’s ability to turn popular imagery into high art through repetition and bold color.

Leading the sale are pieces that trace the artist’s legacy, including the vibrant Sunset 86 and Sunset works. Originally commissioned for the Hotel Marquette in Minneapolis, these prints display Warhol’s mastery of color serialization through hundreds of unique variants. The selection also features the enduring Flowers series, which famously reimagined a magazine photograph into a bold study of impermanence.

Collectors can also bid on the dynamic Mick Jagger portrait, capturing the rock icon at his celebrity peak, as well as the fashion-centric Shoes. Notably, the auction presents orange and pink Camouflage prints from Warhol’s final portfolio, a motif that appeared in his self-portraits just before his death.

Caitlin Donovan, JOOPITER’s Global Head of Sale said, “We are excited to present works by Andy Warhol, whose prints continue to define the foundation of contemporary print collecting. This auction reflects JOOPITER’s continued commitment to the contemporary art market – offering works of cultural significance that bridge art history, popular culture, and the way today’s collectors engage with editioned masterpieces.”
