Ella Emhoff is Platform's Latest Art Curator

52 works from 21 artist threaded by an eclectic and post-ironic flair.

Actress, designer and model Ella Emhoff takes the reins as Platform’s guest curator, with a 52-piece selection by 21 artists, including the likes of Nicole McLaughlin, Alfonso Gonzalez Jr., Hannah Lupton Reinhard and Mia Scarpa. Launched in 2021, the David Zwirner-backed art shop has shown to be a promising space for emerging talent from a spectrum of creative disciplines.

The selection, which includes a pair of knit portraits from the curator’s oeuvre, encompasses painting, sculpture and textile, with many occupying a space in between mediums. Spanning Lindsey Lou Howard’s tongue-in-cheek spin on consumer goods, the frosted borders of Justin Hager’s romantic compositions, and Spencer Harris’ meme-inspired commentary on memory, each piece reflects Emhoff’s eclectic and post-ironic flair.

“Whether I’ve been following them online for years or have only recently discovered them, they all represent the kind of art that excites me and has been inspiring me: weird, humorous, a little unsettling and overall, it leaves you feeling a bit lighter after engaging with it,” Emhoff expressed.
