Kenny Scharf Drops Pop Surrealist Suitcases With Samsonite

Carry-on and check-in luggages emblazoned with Scharf’s alien-like characters.

Samsonite dropped a new collection inspired by pop surrealist Kenny Scharf. His alien-like figures cover the C-Lite Carry-On Spinner and C-Lite Large Spinner. The carry-on is 21.6 x 15.8 x 7.9 inches and weighs 4.5 pounds empty. The larger suitcase is 30.7 x 21.5 x 12.6 inches, weighing 6.3 pounds empty.

Kenny Scharf, born in 1958 in Los Angeles, is a painter and installation artist known for his vibrant, surrealist works blending pop culture and street art. He rose to prominence in the 1980s East Village art scene in New York, alongside Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Scharf’s playful, cartoon-like imagery draws from 1960s TV shows, sci-fi, and everyday objects. His art challenges the boundaries between high and low culture, aiming to inject humor and positivity. Scharf’s works have been exhibited globally, cementing his place in contemporary art.

Shop the Kenny Scharf collection on Samsonite’s website with prices ranging from $550 to $650 USD.
