Evgen Čopi Gorišek Releases 'The Boom' Sculpture With AllRightsReserved

Available to purchase at the DDTStore.

Slovenian artist Evgen Čopi Gorišek returns to world of editions with a new collaborative sculpture made by AllRightsReserved. The Boom has been in the works for a year and features a boxer cast in bronze and hand-painted with oil stick. According to a statement via Instagram, the sculpture is inspired by his childhood wanting to be a boxer and watching Rocky films.

Entirely self-taught, Gorišek’s humorous aesthetic draws on various iconography across pop culture — whether Bruce Lee, a reclining nude or a skater — which he strips the subject of its facial features, in place of uniform smiley expressions. In many ways, Gorišek’s figurative artworks are both a satire on the picture-perfect veneer of social media images, as well as the lack of communication that transpires with fleeting encounters. “When I meet people, talk to people, many times people smile to you, but you never know what they are really hiding behind,” the artist said in a statement.

Limited to an edition of 23, The Boom sizes at 19 x 3.6 x 8 inches, and comes signed and numbered by the artist with a certificate of authenticity. For those looking to purchase, the sculpture is available for $4,013 USD at the DDTStore by AllRightsReserved.
