WOAW Gallery Announces "The Descendants" Major Group Presentation

Following last year’s ‘Hot Concrete: LA to HK’ show.

After bringing 30 west coast artists to Hong Kong with “Hot Concrete: LA to HK,” WOAW Gallery has now announced its next major group presentation. Taking over Hong Kong’s K11 MUSEA once again, the exhibition is curated by Micki Meng, Melanie Ouyang Lum, and WOAW Gallery founder Kevin Poon.

Dubbed “The Descendants,” the group presentation features works from over 20 international artists. WOAW Gallery describes the show, “In the pursuit of reinvigorating once-classic forms of abstraction as well as experimenting with portraiture and landscape, each participating artist foregrounds artistic exploration in the particular histories and legacies of the art cosmopolitans they hail from and identities they inhabit.”

Artists featured include Michelle Blade, Gabriella Boyd, Ross Caliendo, Dominique Fung, Bambou Gili Joshua Hagler, Oscar Yi Hou, Chanel Khoury, Rae Klein, Spencer Lewis, Jessie Makinson, Rute Merk, Gabriel Mills, Sarah Miska, Francesca Mollett, Nina Molloy, Keita Morimoto, Meeson Jessica Pae, Jacopo Pagin, Lauren Quin, Shanna Wddell, Blair Whiteford, and Livien Lin.

WOAW Gallery’s “The Descendants” major group presentation opens September 1, and will be open to the public from September 2 until September 17.
