Snarkitecture Installs Eye-Catching Brickwork for Library Street Collective

Revealing the white-walled gallery space inside.

Snarkitecture commemorated the opening of Library Street Collective‘s newly-designed space with an eye-catching brickwork installation on the gallery’s facade. Located in the belt of downtown Detroit, the space is committed to launching dynamic exhibitions from its roster of emerging and established artists. The launch signals Snarkitecture’s first free-standing gallery and its second partnership following its interactive installation called The Beach Detroit.

The installation acts as textural portal revealing the white-walled gallery space inside. The intervention also complements the building’s original brick construction. As designboom puts it: “The artwork is an arrangement of bricks that appear to cantilever into the space while allowing natural light to flood the gallery.”

“We share so much in common with Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham, the founders of Snarkitecture. The art world can often feel insular but both Alex and Daniel understand our intentions around accessibility, inclusivity and community,” Library Street Collective co-founder Anthony Curis expressed.

The gallery is currently presenting ”LIGHT,” a collection of new works by Sam Friedman curated by KAWS. Check out the brick installation above and then head to Snarkitecture’s website to learn more.
