James Jean Releases New Print to Support AAPI Community Fund

A surrealist composition to celebrate the start of spring.

After releasing his Slingshot NFT artwork, James Jean is gearing up to launch a new limited edition print entitled Spring. Measuring roughly 22 by 16 inches, the artwork portrays a vivid, surrealist composition of a young boy harvesting nectar from a chrysanthemum. With this piece, the artist commemorates the spring season.

“The Dowser traverses the chrysanthemum, seeking nectar. The birds expose the flower’s equator, revealing its aromatic syrups. In a prismatic celebration of Spring and its arrival, the birds and flower glisten with sculptural details, foiled linework, and dimensionally embellished drips and specks,” as per a description.

The edition will be available to purchase for only 24 hours on James Jean’s website starting March 25 at 8 a.m. PDT through March 26 at 7:59 a.m. PDT. Proceeds from the sale of the print will one donated to the AAPI Community Fund — a non-profit organization that has launched various initiatives to shed light on violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
