Andrei Molodkin and Robin Bell Have Something to Say About Trump's White House

A 70-foot projection cast over the Washington D.C.’s Trump Hotel.

Artists Robin Bell and Andrei Molodkin have teamed up on an artwork titled The White House Filled With the Blood of U.S. Citizens. The work is a projected image of the White House filled with blood cast over the Trump Organization’s Washington, D.C. hotel, located just one mile from the U.S. Capitol.

Molodkin, who’s based in France, and Bell, a Washington D.C.-based multimedia artist known for his critique on Trump’s presidency, made the projection 70-feet wide — one of Bell’s largest works to date. The artwork displays a clear acrylic model of the White House containing real human blood collected from American expats from a church in France. According to the artists, the work is a critique on the Trump Hotel, which they describe as a “pseudo-White House for the current administration” to illustrate the link between “politics, money, personal power and ego.” Bell added, “In the wake of insurrection, we’ve heard sentiments expressing that these actions don’t reflect America. Our country has systematically upheld white supremacy. This artwork demands that folks challenge the inherent inequality and collectively work towards a just future.”
