Lucien Smith's Serving the People to Launch Pop-up Exhibition With Basic.Space

Diverse artworks and accompanying merch.

Serving The People, the arts non-profit founded by renowned artist and filmmaker Lucien Smith, is teaming up with Basic.Space on a multi-platform exhibition with accompanying merchandise. In partnership with the Miami Design District, the month-long presentation entitled “Second Site” will be curated by Parsons’ Adriana Furlong and Margaux Halloran in Miami, Florida.

The exhibition will feature diverse works including sculptures, paintings, prints and more. Smith will also host a digital experience on the Basic.Space platform featuring a livestream of the physical pop-up. Co-branded tees in various colors and graphics will also be purveyed in the space.

“I’m very excited for our collaboration with Basic.Space and the Miami Design District. As a digital community, it is always a great opportunity for our programming to exist in physical spaces. This collaboration is a perfect example of how Serving the People can work together with partners and organizations to facilitate informal, creative, and educational programs for our communities,” said Smith.

The collaboration follows Basic.Space’s latest experience with Swiss design company Vitra and Virgil Abloh. Check out select work examples in the slideshow above and then head to Basic.Space’s website and Serving The People’s website to learn more.
